Stephanie Buscema’s work is a vibrant celebration of nostalgia, whimsy, and the rich traditions of handmade art.

Rooted in her love of vintage design, folklore, mythology, and the supernatural, Stephanie’s creations evoke a sense of enchantment and storytelling. Working primarily with gouache and watermedia on watercolor paper, she embraces the tactile and traditional methods of painting, which allow her to explore vivid colors and textures reminiscent of mid 20th century aesthetics.

Her work draws inspiration from sources as diverse as old storybooks, Halloween ephemera, retro cartoons, and antique textiles. These influences blend seamlessly into her signature style, playful yet sophisticated, capturing the charm of bygone eras while imbuing them with her own creative voice. Through her paintings, textile designs, and illustrations for books and cards, she seeks to preserve the magic of the past while engaging contemporary audiences. Ultimately, Stephanie’s work is a testament to her passion for storytelling through image making, aiming to spark joy and nostalgia in those who encounter her art.
