Part of a three piece print set, “Anise” was originally hand painted with gouache paint on arches watercolor paper. These three pieces (or three sisters, as I like to call them) were painted as a set towards the end of summer/2020, inspired by plant lore and various forms of folk art, two subjects I’ve taken a bit of a deep dive into these months while in quarantine this year. I found these pieces to be a bit of a personal exploration into more of a decorative approach to painting, a little less planned and a bit more organic, incorporating some techniques I use for pattern making.
One of three sister cats, Anise, has been painted in Grey, black, oranges/rust/yellos and greens, surrounded by glowing pumpkins, autumnal treats, foliage, mice and some pie ingredients. She holds a freshly baked pie and her apron depicts a decorative design of a pumpkin surrounded by vines and leaves.
My Anise has been beautifully reproduced from my original painting and offered here as a new giclée print. All prints offered in my shop are high quality, printed on heavy, museum quality 100% cotton rag acid free watercolor paper (Arches brand/310g) , using 100+ year archival pigments.
-Print measures 9.712” wide x 13.335” high
-Comes signed with archival ink
-Bagged and packaged with care, all prints are packed flat and will arrive in an acid free bag with a backing board.
